Sustainability.

The future grocery store should be nothing but sustainable!

We’ve created a retail system that consciously contributes to a sustainable future.

Our effective value chain and logistics saves tonnes of food waste each year. Through high food turnover and our direct-to-customer system that means longer shelf-life on fresh food.

Food production stands for 34% of global greenhouse gas emissions, and we recognize that it's impossible to produce and deliver food without a carbon footprint. We are dedicated making our footprint, and our customers', as small as possible!

Our aim is to become the most sustainable retail system, from supplier to customer.

We want to:

  • Fundamentally challenge and inspire the industry to become more sustainable

  • Minimize our negative and maximize the positive climate impact of our operations

  • Ensure happy and engaged employees that reflect the diversity of the society we operate

  • Make it easy for our customers to live healthy and sustainable lives

Some of the things we’re working on right now

Making our own packaging even more sustainable, e.g. looking at how we can eliminate single-use plastics from our packaging.

Reducing our climate emissions from our operations by 50% within 2025. For example, we have set a goal to have 100% electric vehicles (or other electric means of transport) within 2025.

Reducing the climate emissions from the products we sell by 50% within 2025 (baseline 2019) both by looking at how we sell products and working with our suppliers.

Sitting between the customer and our suppliers we have the opportunity motivate change in both directions.
